This workshop is designed for beginners and students with some painting experience.

Even if you have never painted, you will leave this workshop understanding the foundations of mixed media and abstract art.

In addition to providing all supplies, each workshop includes a Creativity Kit to continue your art-making practice at home. (A $45 value)

No experience is necessary!

Snacks and beverages will be served at each class.

You will also leave with at least two finished beautiful pieces of art made by you!

Registration Details

Exploring Mixed Media & Abstract Art:

  • We gather for a total of five sessions (2.5 hours each session), during which you will experience working with a variety of tools and mediums, allowing you to delve into the world of mixed media and abstract art.

    You will make 2-3 (a minimum of 2) art pieces using painting, collage, mediums, mark-making techniques and more.

    I will teach you about colour theory and harmony so that you do not create “mud.”

    I will show you how to add images to your pieces, keeping with an abstract theme, even if you have no drawing experience.

    We will discuss composition and what makes a “pleasing to the eye” piece of art.

    You will also take home a CREATIVITY KIT to continue with your art-making practice at home.

    NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. I will teach you everything you need to know to feel confident in making intuitive and expressive art pieces.

    All supplies are included. Beverages and snacks will be served during each session.

    Classes are held at my home in Thornhill Woods (the exact address and telephone number are provided in your confirmation email after registering).

    Please note that I have a small 20-lb Cockapoo who will most likely be home during most classes. He is hypoallergenic and very friendly. Unfortunately, classes in my home will not be ideal for people who are afraid of dogs.     All art supplies and materials are included.

    You will be gifted a CREATIVITY KIT to continue making art at home. (A $50 value).

    You will complete 2-3 paintings.

    Snacks & beverages will be served at each session.

  • Payment is non-refundable. If you need to cancel before the workshop starts, you may transfer your amount to another class or workshop or towards purchasing an original painting.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Absolutely no art-making experience is necessary! Chances are, you have made art at one point in your life and perhaps don’t realize it. We are all born creative.

    My workshops and retreats intend to teach you skills so that you can begin a painting practice on your own and help you use creativity as a tool for transformation and accessing inner wisdom.

  • I am constantly updating my offerings that vary in length of time, as well as locations throughout the GTA, and adding dates. Get on my email list to stay up to date and also be entered into my monthly draw.

  • Yes! In each workshop and retreat, I teach artist techniques that will allow you to continue to make art independently at home, where you can also build on these skills. I will also show what you need and don’t need to start a practice at home to ensure you do not waste money on unnecessary supplies.

  • Not just yet, but I plan to offer them in the future.

  • Absolutely! I ask that we schedule a brief call to discuss your event. I will then email you a quote for the event. If you’d like to proceed with booking, an agreement will be forwarded along with a payment request. All art-making supplies will be provided.
